Faculty

Faculty teaching on this programme are international experts in their respective fields. Most of them come from other academic institutions, corporations and consulting practice. They come from both Poland and the U.K. Most of the Polish faculty possess vast international experience. Our faculty have been selected because of their ability to provide a dynamic learning experience and to deliver the latest material in an engaging, practical and down-to-earth way.

 

 

Mariusz Bednarek, Ph.D.

Module leader: International Logistics and Operations Performance

Currently Dean of Management Faculty, University of Social Sciences, professor at Warsaw University of Technology and adjunct professor at IBD Business School, Mariusz Bednarek has many years of academic experience at universities in Poland, Mexico, Spain and Canada. He is also an experienced industrial consultant, having participated in many manufacturing and management projects, developed for North America and European industrial plants. As a result of these projects, important improvements have been achieved in the companies involved, such as: cost reduction, plant modernisation, improvements of manufacturing processes and securing ISO 9001 certifications.

Prof. Bednarek has worked and lived in Mexico and Poland. He is fluent in several languages and has a good understanding of different cultures. A member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, Dr Bednarek is the author of 94 books, articles and papers related to management of technology and production systems.

 

 

Przemysław Domański, Ph.D.

Module leader: Project Management

Since 2009, Operations Director at S&T Services Polska in Cracow. Dr Eng. Domański has many years of experience in the areas of project management, ERP systems development, financial software development for small enterprises, organisation of software support centres, and the various business development projects, including co-operation with universities. Previously, he has worked for such companies as BEELC Polska (Cracow), Baan Polska (Warsaw), and Betronex Elektronik AB (Stockholm).

He has also held the position of Assistant Professor at the Institute of Automatics, AGH University of Science and Technology. In addition to IBD Business School, Dr Domański is an adjunct faculty member at Cracow University of Economics, Tischner European University and AGH, teaching both undergraduate and post-graduate courses, including MBA. Przemysław is a member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and for several years has served as Assessor for the Project Excellence Award of IPMA.

 

 

Grzegorz Jędrzejczak, Ph.D.

Module leader: Dissertation

Dr Jędrzejczak is currently a part-time professor at the Warsaw University, Chairman of the IBD Research Committee and an IBD Supervisory Board member. His current research interest concerns economic policy for promoting innovations in middle income countries. From 1993 till 2013, he was an international staff member at the World Bank, a leading specialist in the Private and Financial Sector Department in the Europe and Central Asia Region and the Country Manager in Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Prior to his work for the World Bank, he was Senior Advisor in the Central Office of Ownership Changes, and an Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Ownership Changes (Privatisation). As the department head responsible for creating the legal and institutional base for capital markets in the early years of Poland’s transformation into a market economy, Dr Jędrzejczak co-authored the Polish Privatisation Programme.

 

 

Beata Kozyra, Ph.D.

Module leader: Strategic Leadership

Dr Kozyra has 20 years of successful experience in management in different types of organisations and companies, including 4 years as Vice Rector of a higher-education institution. Currently a lecturer at European University Collage in Poznań, and lecturer and trainer at the IBD Business School, she has taught a variety of management courses in the areas of strategy, management and leadership at the Bachelor and MBA levels. In 2003, Beata received an award for the best doctoral thesis in economics from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Thanks to her strong academic background and managerial experience, she can combine the best business practice with the newest theoretical knowledge. She is the author of more than 20 articles published in the management field and four books titled: Practice in crisis management; Strategic Alliances as the First Step to Mergers and Acquisitions; Communication without Barriers; and Understand Yourself.

 

 

Arkadiusz Kustra, Ph.D.

Module leader: International Management of Finance

Assistant Professor and Head of the Finance Institute at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. He is also Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Management and Finance and IBD Business School in Warsaw. Previously, he served as Director of Post-graduate Studies in “Management of International Mining Enterprises and “Management of Industrial Production”, customised for large mining companies in Poland.

Dr Kustra is an expert in financial management, accounting, controlling, company valuation and sources of enterprise financing. In these areas he teaches and conducts research. He has published extensively in Polish academic journals and monographs and is a recipient of several major research grants awarded by the National Science Centre. Arkadiusz facilitates workshops and conducts training sessions for executives. An advisor to Management Boards of SMEs, he has also consulted on strategic and operational controlling in relation to investments and their impact on company valuation.

 

 

Jan Nowak, Ph.D.

Module leader: Marketing Strategy in an Always on World and Consultancy Project

Currently Director of MBA Programmes at the IBD Business School in Poland, Jan has over 35 years of academic and administrative experience with higher-education institutions in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. In addition to his teaching and research activities, Dr Nowak has held the positions of MBA Programme Director and Director of a Management Training Centre at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, Canada, MBA Programme Co-ordinator at the University of South Pacific in Fiji, and Academic Area Co-ordinator and Faculty Chair at Central European University in Budapest.

He has developed many training courses and degree programmes in business management. Dr Nowak specialises in marketing and international business, the areas in which he teaches and conducts research, executive training and consulting. His publication record includes five books, over 60 papers in refereed international journals and conference proceedings, and numerous cases, book chapters and reports.

 

 

Greta Paa-Kerner, BA and MIA

Guest lecturer: Marketing Strategy in an Always on World

As Senior Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University, Greta develops teaching materials and delivers modules to university students in Digital Marketing; Innovation, Quality & the Internet; International Marketing; and Selling & Sales Management, as well as moderating other courses taught in the Business School. Previously, Greta has worked for Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, Cambridge Marketing Collage, and Regent’s University College London, where she was course director, lecturer and writer specialising in digital marketing.

Mrs. Paa-Kerner has researched and written thought leadership around the topics of digital marketing & e-commerce and possesses up-to-date knowledge of this every changing subject. For the last 15 years, she’s also been involved in managing Ganduxer, Ltd , a marketing consulting company working with such clients as Publicis, Hewlett Packard and Barclays Wealth.

 

 

Henryk Sterniczuk, Ph.D.

Module leader: Organisational Resilience

Professor of Management and International Business and former Director of MBA at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, Canada, Dr Sterniczuk serves as Chairman of the IBD Academic Committee. In 1990, he was an Advisor to the Government Plenipotentiary for Ownership Changes and then to the Minister of Privatisation. He is Founding President of the Centre for Privatisation, the first professional training organisation in Poland. In 1992-1993 Professor Sterniczuk set up the Institute of Privatisation and Management in Moscow and Nizhni Novgorod. In 1993-98 he was Founder and President of the International Institute of Business in Ukraine and Co-founder of similar institutions in Belarus and Kazakhstan. His current work concerns the role of relations between society and economy in generating innovations. Henryk’s last book, co-authored with Krzysztof Lis, is on corporate governance in Poland.

 

 

Tibor Vörös, MSc

Module leader: Digital Leadership in a World of Continuous Change

Tibor has over 20 years of experience both in academic and corporate environments. He has worked in various management areas (knowledge management, decision making, business intelligence, information systems) as practitioner, but has also researched these topics from the theory point of view. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Lecturer and Director of Full-time MBA Programme at the CEU Business School in Budapest, while completing his Ph.D. studies at the University of Hertfordshire in U.K. His research work ranges from social media to cultural and strategic issues for corporations.

More recently Mr Vörös has spent considerable time on various business simulations and created unique storyboards to help students experience real life problems in classroom situations. His current research work concentrates on the relationship of culture and technology. In 2010, Mr Vörös was the winner of the Innovation in Course Design category for the CEEMAN Champions’ Award.
